JOB TITLE: Reconciliation Officer
DEPARTMENT: Finance
REPORTS TO: Senior Accountant
PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF ROLE: The Reconciliation Officer’s key responsibility is to reconcile all water sales and fee income GL codes, Accounts Receivable, prepare monthly Accrued income and deferred revenue and other GL reconciliations required for month and year end. Monitor Receivable GL against Billing to identify variances and fix to before month end rollover

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The position holder will undertake the following tasks:
Water Sales
- Perform month end reconciliations for the following:
- Domestic water sales (Honiara, Auki, Noro and Tulagi)
- Commercial water sales (Honiara, Auki, Noro and Tulagi)
- Domestic waste water (Honiara)
- Commercial waster (Honiara)
Fees and other Charges related to Water Service
- Perform month end reconciliations for the following:
- Domestic standing charge (Honiara, Auki, Noro and Tulagi)
- Commercial standing charge (Honiara, Auki, Noro and Tulagi)
- Service fee (Honiara, Auki, Noro and Tulagi)
- Disconnection and Reconnection fee (Honiara, Auki, Noro and Tulagi)
- Other fee incomes
Receivables
- Perform daily and month end reconciliations for the following:
- Daily checking for variance by comparing GL and Billing reports and fix
- Cashwater Recovery Receivable
- Cashwater agent top ups and arrear recovery
- Cashwater agent top up income
- Other Receivables
- Bad debts recovered
Perform month end reconciliations for the following including:
- Salary suspense
- PAYE, NPF and HTC
- Other Reconciliation required for month and year end
KEY SKILLS/SELECTION CRITERIA
The following skills are required for the position:
- High level of analytical skills
- Ability to work without supervision effectively and efficiently (multitasking)
- Proven understanding of Billing module in relation to GL structure
- Has high level of computer literacy usage (both hardware and software)
- Has the ability to question figures and fix mistakes
- The ability and enthusiasm to contribute actively as a member of SIWA team
- Good team work and high interpersonal skills
- Good communication skills
Qualification
- Diploma in Finance, Accounting, Business Studies or other related field from a recognized training institution
Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years’ work experience as a Reconciliation Officer
