It imports and sells petroleum products: unleaded petrol, Automotive Diesel, Jet A1 fuels and a large range of automotive, marine and industrial lubricants. We have a fantastic opportunity for any interested person who wants to join our Terminal Operations team. These roles are great opportunities for someone looking to further develop their career within a fuel and oil industry. Hence, we are inviting application from interested and eligible candidates for the following position:
Customs Clearance Officer
Summary of Key functions:
- Customs Clearance of all South Pacific Oil Ltd Exports and Imports
- Manage SPO Monthly fuel Bond Duty and payments
- Manage all container movements in and out of company premises, tracking containers storage and detentions
- Report any issues to Supply & Logistics Assistant Manager, and Terminal Operations Manager
Competencies Required
- Familiarity with Solomon Islands customs & excise regulations and procedures
- Strong knowledge of SIG Customs laws and regulations
- Understands well and can use the SIG Customs Asycuda System Software to clear imported and under bond items
- Be able to manage own performance, is self-disciplined and able to work with minimum supervision
- Must be a team player and be part of a group of authentically motivated staff
- Reliable and can manage changes
- Have a good analytical skill to be able to work with minimum supervision
- Take the initiative to review processes where existing processes either have deficiencies or in changed conditions
- Must have a good communication skill, to be able to communicate with subordinates, storemen, drivers and the management team
Qualification and Experiences:
A bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, international trade, or a related field is preferred, but Minimum of a high school diploma with SIG Customs Asycuda System Certificate, or at least 2-3 years of work experience in customs clearance using the Asycuda system software, and having a strong knowledge of the SIG Customs Law & Regulations will be considered.
