South Pacific Oil Limited is one of the largest Corporate Organizations in the Solomon Islands. It imports and sells petroleum products: unleaded petrol, Automotive Diesel, Jet A1 fuels and a large range of automotive, marine and industrial lubricants. It is 100% owned by the people of the Solomon Islands through their contribution to the Solomon Islands National Provident Fund. We have a fantastic opportunity for a two exciting positions to join our Terminal Operations team. These roles are great opportunities for someone looking to further develop their career within a fuel and oil industry. Hence, we are inviting application from interested and eligible candidates for the following position:

1. Counter Clerk x 2

Summary of Key functions:

  • Serving & greeting customers are the front sales counter
  • Taking orders and Processing sales transaction on SAP System
  • Informing customers on special offers
  • Collecting payments and receipting on SAP System
  • Assisting and answering customers with queries
  • Providing information on Petroleum Products
  • Assisting and understanding customers’ requirements, and providing solution
  • Providing prompt, friendly and professional service
  • Conduct scheduled End of Day tasks
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and professional outlook for the Sales Office
  • Other duties as required by management

Competencies Required

  • Must be computer literate with the ability to investigate variances and correct them. ExcellentPC skills, assessed as a competent “user” of MS Excel, MS Word
  • Must be knowledgeable on SAP or similar integrated business system
  • Good communication skills, friendly and ability to grasp instructions
  • Able to demonstrate the capacity to work under pressure and under minimum supervision
  • Must be versatile and have excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively and foster good relationship with customers and colleagues
  • Able to demonstrate maturity and be a self-starter
  • Must be able to work as part of a team in an office and terminal environment
  • Possess a proactive safety behaviour

Qualification and Experiences:

Certificate in Business Administration or High School Certificate with experience in sales and marketing dutiesis preferred. Must have some basic computer training in Excel and Word, SAP system and a valid driving license.

Level: Level 7 Contract Type: Fixed Term Appointment.
