Solomon Airlines Limited, the National Carrier of Solomon Islands is seeking to recruit enthusiastic and performance driven persons for the following position of Operations Control Centre (OCC) Officer.

PURPOSE

The purpose of the OCC Officer is to ensure that the daily flight operations of the Airline is safe, legally- compliant, customer-friendly, efficient and effective in every way possible.

This is best accomplished by ensuring the first decision in any situation is the best possible decision for all stakeholders.

The Operations Control Centre is responsible for Schedule Management, Flight Planning, Crew Management, Intercept potential disruptions and ensure best utilization of resources.

RESPONSIBILITIES

2.1 Act as a dispatcher by liaising with relevant parties to ensure requirements are met before, during and after a flight.

2.2 Remain informed of all factors which contribute to the daily operational practices of the airline, which includes but are not limited to;

a. Local Ground Services activity
b. Local, enroute, and destination city weather, NOTAMS (Notice To Airman regarding issues along their planned route or at their intended destination which may affect the safety of their flight.
c. ATC (Air Traffic Control).
d. Aircraft Systems.
e. Aircraft Scheduling.
f. Flight Deck and Cabin Crew Scheduling.

2.3 Create and distribute Daily Flight Movement (DFM).
2.4 Monitor actual operation according to DFM and perform changes needed based on operational requirements.
2.5 Proactively manage the impact of unplanned schedule changes.
2.6 Update On Time Performance (OTP).
2.7 Track aircraft movements as well as pilot duty and flight hours.
2.8 NGen maintenance – daily flight data processing and validation.
2.9 Organise accommodation, transport and meals for Disrupt Passengers.
2.10 Ensure currency on required airborne and on-ground emergency trainings.
2.11 Carry out any other duties as directed by the OCC Coordinator.

POSITION AND PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

Individual must possess the following:

3.1 Diploma level in either aeronautics, meteorology, aviation management, engineering, mathematics or any relevant field 3.2 Active in at least one of the following vocational areas within the past 5 years:

a. Aircraft Pilot
b. Aircraft Dispatcher
c. Aircraft Maintenance Engineer
d. Meteorologist
e. Air Traffic Controller

3.3 Excellent verbal and written communication
3.4 Computer literate
3.5 Able to multitask, work under pressure and meet deadlines
3.6 Attention to detail
3.7 Able to work on weekends
3.8 Great customer service skills
3.9 Confident and work effectively as a team
