Mala-I-Tolo Mentors

Objective:
To support Form 4 and Form 5 students in their computer studies, online learning, basic research, and to help them develop the necessary skills to succeed academically whilst engaging in tools of modern education.

Scope of Work:

  1. Assist students with their online learning activities, including navigating the Moodle LMS, submitting assignments, and participating in online discussions.
  2. Provide guidance and support to students on computer studies topics, including Microsoft office, operating systems, computer hardware and basic computing applications.
  3. Help students develop basic research skills, including identifying and selecting credible sources of information, evaluating sources for reliability and relevance, and citing sources correctly.
  4. Collaborate with other mentors, teachers, and school administrators to monitor students' progress and identify areas for improvement.
  5. Support, encourage and motivate students to develop a positive attitude towards learning and complete Mala-I-Tolo modules.
  6. Provide feedback and constructive criticism to students to help them improve their work.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Teaching, Education, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  2. Experience working with Moodle LMS and other online learning platforms.
  3. Strong knowledge of computer studies topics, including programming languages, operating systems, databases, and computer hardware.
  4. Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with students, teachers, and school administrators.
  5. Ability to provide feedback and constructive criticism in a supportive and non-judgmental manner.
  6. Passionate about education and committed to helping students achieve academic success.

Duration: The mentorship program will run for a period of six months, from April 2024 to November 2024.
