Employment Opportunity – Senior Program Manager (SBD202, 860 – SBD232, 788 pa)

The Australian High Commission invites applications for the position of Senior Program Manager in the Political Team to contribute to the implementation, management, and promotion of Australia’s development program in Solomon Islands.

This position will work with local and Australian staff to deliver strategic communications and public diplomacy activities about the Solomon Islands-Australia Partnership. This position will engage closely with the Solomon Islands media, including supporting the management of a new bilateral media sector strengthening program.

Selection Criteria

  1. Demonstrated skills in photography, video editing, graphic design, radio production, social media content generation, event management, or similar.
  2. Experience working in communications and/or with media, such as in public affairs, marketing, event management, photography, or graphic design.
  3. Demonstrated ability to work independently to deliver quality outcomes and meet deadlines in complex areas of work.
  4. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Pijin.
  5. Demonstrated ability to develop and sustain effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  6. High level of initiative, flexibility and judgement, and excellent problem-solving capabilities.
  7. Ability to supervise, mentor and lead others in a multicultural team.
  8. Demonstrated ability to manage and implement complex development programs to achieve results (desirable).
  9. Relevant tertiary qualifications from a recognised, high-quality institution (desirable), preferably in journalism, communications, public relations and/or graphic design.

The position is full-time ongoing and attracts housing safety net of SBD$20,000 per annum.
