Solomon Islands Red Cross Society (SIRCS) is looking for people who reflect the Fundamental Humanitarian Principles; Humanity, Impartiality and Neutrality. SIRCS is undertaking a recruitment drive to immediately hire two three (3) persons to positions to be based at the National Head Office in Honiara and in two of our Branch Office.

1.SENIOR FINANCE OFFICER

The Senior Finance Officer overall task is to support staff at the SIRC in ensuring providing quality and timely finance information to program staffs, SIRCS Secretary General including donor partners and stakeholders purposely to assist them in making useful financial decision. The senior finance officer role includes but not limited to;

  • Monitoring of daily financial data inputs and to making sure that those postings are charged to correct chart of accounts codes
  • Monitor SIRCS daily cash flow and cash position
  • Monitor monthly actuals Vs budget allocation
  • Overseeing and supervising of data processing into MYOB accounting system
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for SIRCS accounts including other donor partners accounts
  • Reconcile and review of monthly balance sheet general ledgers (Staff advances and acquittals)
  • Prepare and provide monthly financial report to SIRCS Secretary general
  • Assist in preparing SIRCS and donor partners annual budget
  • Prepare annual financial statements for audit
  • Prepare training for SIRC finance staffs as and when required

The individuals we are seeking should have:

  • Formal qualifications (tertiary degree or diploma) in the field as advertised
  • Minimum two to three years work experience in a similar role
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills including presentation skills
  • Excellent relationship management skills
  • Knowledge and commitment to the Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross
  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • Willingness to work overtime to support disaster response operations, when needed
