An Exciting and Challenging Opportunity is open at Guadalcanal Plains Palm Oil Limited the Leading Agricultural Business in the Solomon Islands. The company is hiring for: MEDICAL DOCTOR

We are currently looking for a passionate and motivated Medical Doctor to head our three clinics, to provide integrated patient centred care of a high quality that promotes the optimum level of health and wellbeing for our employees and patients in general. Reporting to the General Manager, the position holder will develop strategies for improving the health of workers, ensuring that the Occupational Health function is positive and influential in its contribution to strategic and operational business plan.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Responsible for addressing community health and health-related policy issues for GPPOL employees, their families and the general population.
• Dealing with the prevention and treatment of injuries, illnesses and disabilities that are related to work promoting both health along with the productivity of employees and families.
• Management and leadership of the medical staff at the three GPPOL clinics.
• Focus on preventing diseases and treating illnesses and injuries present at the worksite level.
• To guide and treat employees on all levels and make sure that occupational health and safety are well-maintained.
• Medical screenings for new employees to make sure they are physically capable of meeting the job requirements including annual early physical examinations as and when required by the company.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree in Medicine with a minimum of at least 3 years experience in Medical Practice, preferably with specific experience in Occupational health.
• Specialist knowledge and expertise in Occupational Health as a clinician, educator, advisor and advocate.
• An engaging personality and the ability to communicate with people on all levels;
• Excellent communication and organisational skills;
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing workload and prioritising tasks;
• Being able to work independently;

Remuneration Package
