PURPOSE

As a key member of the engineering team, you will have the opportunity to work with a team of dedicated professionals and be part of a premier organisation in the Solomon Islands. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role will be responsible for coordinating and performing all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on our aircrafts.

RESPONSIBILITIES

2.1 managing the timely completion of maintenance and engineering activities;
2.2 carrying out maintenance of aircraft components;
2.3 supervising unlicensed engineers and/or contractors as and when required;
2.4 completing maintenance documentation correctly;
2.5 correctly maintaining aircraft log books;
2.6 maintaining Solomon Airline aircraft within the scope of all licencing requirements control and procedural manuals;
2.7 raising matters of non-compliance with CAASI regulations and Solomon Airlines policies and procedures with appropriate personnel;
2.8 adhering to practical steps to ensure safe practices in the workplace, identifying hazards and using the Solomon Airlines Safety Reporting System;
2.9 maintaining personal tools and tool boxes in accordance with Solomon Airlines Maintenance Organization Exposition;
2.10 conducting regular servicing of ground support equipment; and
2.11 attending to correspondence, emails and phone calls, as required.
2.12 Mentoring Solomon Islander LAMEs, AMEs and apprentices

POSITION AND PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

Qualifications & Experience

(i) CASA Part 66 B2 AME License on the Dash 8 classic series and Twin Otter Aircrafts. Airbus License and experience is preferable if possible.
(ii) minimum of 5 years LAME experience on the DHC 8 100, 200, 300 series in both heavy maintenance and Line maintenance.

The following will be highly regarded:

(I) CASA Part 66 B2 AME licence on DHC6 series, DHC 8 Classic series and Airbus A320(desired but not a must)

(b) Personal Qualities

(iii) a team player approach to work and is a Self-Starter who is also able to work unsupervised effectively.
(iv) must be a problem solver and provide workable solutions
(v) outstanding organization skills and be self-motivated
(vi) excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the confidence to work with staff and crew from varying work groups and levels.
(vii) a professional and service-orientated attitude
