JOIN OUR TEAM AS A CONTINUING AIRWORTHINESS MANAGER – A320
Solomon Airlines Ltd, the National Carrier of Solomon Islands, is seeking to recruit an experienced and performance driven Continuing Airworthiness Manager to be based at its Henderson Operations Office in Honiara, Solomon Islands. The position reports directly to and is accountable to the Chief Executive Officer.
Major Responsibilities include but not limited to: (refer to link provided)
- Managing safety risks in Maintenance operations.
- Ensuring maintenance operations are conducted in accordance with the conditions and restrictions of the AOC.
- Managing systems necessary to plan and ensure accomplishment of required maintenance so that airworthiness limitations are not exceeded, including rectification of defects, embodiment of modifications and repairs, and compliance with airworthiness directives.
- Assist maintenance in the troubleshooting of reported defects and conduct defect analysis and rectification solutions and recommend corrective and preventative actions.
- Liaise with Technical Records and Planning for all Checks performed in-house and those sourced and performed externally.
Competencies and requirements of the role are:
- Have a clear knowledge and understanding of the maintenance parts of the organization’s Part 119 exposition and the applicable maintenance provisions of Civil Aviation Authority of Solomon Islands (CAASI) Rule Part 121, 125, 43 and 90 under the adoption of the NZCAA Rules and Regulations.
- Hold or have held an aircraft maintenance engineer license or equivalent, acceptable to the Director of Civil Aviation Authority of Solomon Islands (CAASI), with appropriate ratings (or be a graduate engineer in an aeronautical, mechanical or electrical discipline).
- Have at least five years’ experience in the maintenance of aircraft of a similar size and type operated by the organization. Graduate engineers from an aeronautical college or university can fulfil this requirement with experience in maintenance supervision, planning, engineering development or workshops and must have six months practical experience in aircraft maintenance tasks.
- Must be mature, competent and reliable in the performance of his/her duties.
- Detailed oriented with a strong commitment to safety and quality.
- Excellent communication and Leadership skills.
