Summary of Duties
Responsible for the data processing and reconciliation of accounts in the General Ledger and provision of timely and accurate financial management reports. Ensure financial transactions in the financial system comply with the financial and procurement policies and procedures of the university. Collaborate with the accounts payable team in the provision of accurate and timely processing of financial transactions and the provision of internal and external reporting.
Main Duties and responsibilities
- Responsible for the accurate monthly preparation of rental payments;
- Ensure the monthly rental subsidiary ledger transactions are posted to the General Ledger;
- Liaise with the HR payroll team to ensure fortnightly payroll run is processed and submitted to the banks on time;
- Work with the HR payroll team to resolve all payroll related matters;
- Ensure that postings from subsidiary ledgers are done to the correct general ledger control accounts, expenditure and revenue accounts;
- Reconcile the rental clearing account on monthly basis;
- Liaise with the HR housing team on changes to the monthly rental data and these are reflected in the monthly rental pay run;
- Keep a register of landlords and tenants;
- Responsible for registering and processing imprest requests. Please refer to the job description for more information.
Minimum Qualification and Experience Requirements:
To be considered for this position, applicants must have:
A Degree in Business Studies, Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field in a recognized institution
Essential to the position
- At least 3 years’ experience in an accounting position in a reputable public or private organization.
- Well versed with financial information systems, and Microsoft products.
Preferable
- A professional accounting qualification.
- A member of the Institute of Solomon Islands Accountants

- Excellent inter- personal and commercial skills.
- Proven ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision, delivering results on target.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and commercial skills.
Terms and Conditions
This is a full-time position with a contract term of five years, renewable based on performance and mutual agreement.
