The Australian High Commission is looking to recruit Program Managers to contribute to the implementation, management, and promotion of Australia’s development program in Solomon Islands.

Successful applicants may be used to fill Program Manager vacancies in education, infrastructure, humanitarian, economic growth, health, gender equality, governance, justice, or public communications teams.

As a Program Manager, you will be able to work autonomously under the direction of an Australian officer to manage Australia’s development assistance program, in accordance with the International Development Programming Guide. You will manage and prioritise tasks, build relationships, monitor contract and program performance, and undertake research. Applicants who do not meet the requirements of the role may be offered a position at the Assistant Program Manager level [SBD135,816 – SBD155,832].

Selection criteria

  1. Demonstrated ability to manage complex development programs, including contracts and reporting, to achieve results.
  2. Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  3. High level of initiative, flexibility and judgement, and excellent problem-solving capabilities.
  4. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Pidgin.
  5. Relevant tertiary qualifications from a recognized, high-quality institution.
