About the Solomon Islands Australia Education Partnership

The Solomon Islands-Australia Education Partnership (Edukeson fo iumi) program to support basic education - Stronger Education Together (SET) - aims to improve equitable school access and enhance the quality of education. The program provides funding through sector budget support to MEHRD to support infrastructure development in schools and in SINU. The program is managed under the Australia-Solomon Islands Program Support (ASIPS) Facility by DT Global. The Program commenced 1 April 2025.

The Role

The SET Program Management Team (PMT) is responsible for planning, implementation, coordination, day-to-day management, reporting and administration of the Solomon Islands SET program. The program has established a robust, long-term Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning Plan which requires establishing baselines against which change can be measured. The Senior Research Officer will undertake research activities to support the effective management of the Solomon Islands education sector, development of program baselines and to provide evidence for program planning.

About You
You will need to have the following:

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor or higher-level qualifications in psychology, sociology, research, education or another relevant field or equivalent experience.

Essential experience and knowledge

  1. Experience in planning and implementing research activities including the ability to develop valid and reliable applied research plans and to prepare high quality research reports.
  2. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  3. Proven ability to work both collaboratively in a team, and in independently, to deliver the agreed program of work.
  4. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and using research-related data collation tools.
  5. Understanding of cross-cutting development issues such as gender equality, disability inclusion, climate change and safeguards.
  6. Ability to read, write and converse in English and Solomon Islands’ Pijin.

Remuneration
Commensurate to the technical knowledge and years of relevant experience and in accordance with the DT Global and ASIPS remuneration framework.
