This program is a unique opportunity for Solomon Islanders who have recently completed studies in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) or those who have a strong interest in building a career in the ICT sector.

Program Background

The Solomon Islands Government (SIG) and private industries are experiencing a critical shortage of skilled ICT professionals. The Junior Professional Program (JPP) has been established to address this gap by developing a new generation of ICT specialists.

The JPP is a comprehensive two-year initiative, structured into 6-month learning cycles, and is designed to:

  • Equip participants with practical ICT skills and industry-relevant knowledge.
  • Provide blended learning opportunities, combining online courses, classroom training, and hands-on workshops.
  • Offer professional mentorship from experienced ICT experts working in government and industry.
  • Build the confidence and technical capacity of junior ICT professionals to contribute effectively to national development.

By the end of the program, participants will be well-prepared to pursue a successful career in ICT across both public and private sectors.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Hold a Certificate, Diploma, or Bachelor’s degree in ICT or a related field from a university or rural training centre, or
  • Have 1–2 years of work experience in any ICT-related field.

We are looking for individuals who are:

  • Motivated and eager to learn new technologies.
  • Able to commit to the 6 month internship
  • Passionate about contributing to the ICT sector in the Solomon Islands.
