VACANCY: National Ocean Advisor

The Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) is seeking a National Ocean Advisor (NOA) to support the Government of Solomon Islands (MECDM) under the Bezos Earth Fund Project. The NOA is a senior position embedded within MECDM responsible for leading high-level coordination of marine spatial planning (MSP), marine protected area (MPA) policy and national ocean governance initiatives.

Qualification – Minimum 10 years’ experience in marine policy, government coordination, or related fields. Strong understanding of Solomon Islands governance and environmental legislation is essential, along with proven leadership in multi-stakeholder planning and ocean policy development. Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills are required.

Location: Honiara
Duration: One-year contract, renewable based on performance and funding.
