Career Opportunity in SPBD Microfinance Solomon Islands

SPBD Solomon Islands is part of a network of microfinance institutions working in Samoa, Tonga, Fiji and Vanuatu. We are dedicated to eradicating poverty by empowering women in rural & urban villages with the opportunity to start, grow and maintain sustainable, income-generating micro enterprises, build assets, as well as finance home improvements and childhood education.

1. Position:

  • 1x Centre Manager (Field loans officer)
  • Location: Honiara

2. Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct weekly Centre meetings across various communities on a strict time schedule.
  • Collect weekly client Loan repayments and savings, and keep accurate reporting on the billings.
  • Actively acquire new members and potential new SPBD Centre’s.
  • Manage the loan process, including credit evaluation, and build and maintain a good quality loan portfolio.
  • Provide timely reporting of various activities and tasks, as required.

3. Preferred Qualifications, Skills & Personal Qualities:

  • Certificate or diploma in business management or related field (essential).
  • Minimum of 2 years work experience in retail or related field.
  • Articulate and strong communication skills to address large groups (approximately 10—30 people).
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Fluent in both English & pidgin, friendly and positive attitude.
  • Highly punctual and focused.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license (essential).
  • Must have a clean police record (essential).
