Development Programme Coordinator

The New Zealand High Commission is recruiting for a Development Programme Coordinator! This position is responsible for managing the Manaaki New Zealand Scholarships Programme and New Zealand’s youth engagement programmes in Solomon Islands.
About the role
In this position, you will help deliver activities funded through the New Zealand Development Programme. You will engage closely with Solomon Islands Government, delivery partners, scholars and alumni, and other stakeholders to strengthen development outcomes for Solomon Islands. You will have responsibility for managing scholar and alumni engagement, monitoring activity progress and deliverables, and identifying and escalating risks.
You will also be responsible for working with New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade teams in Wellington and around the world. You will represent New Zealand at different events, and support the High Commission’s engagement with government officials, civil society, and other stakeholders in a way that reflects New Zealand’s values and partnership with Solomon Islands.
Annual starting salary for the position will be dependent upon skills and experience.
Who are we looking for?
Your strong project and relationship management skills will be key to your success. You will have excellent communication skills in English and Solomon Islands Pijin and will be passionate about supporting the development aspirations of Solomon Islands in your daily work. Expertise or previous work experience in education, scholarships management or youth work would be an advantage.
