About the Role
The Solomon Islands Planned Parenthood Association (SIPPA) has been serving communities in Solomon Islands for over 40 years with the vision of creating a society where women, men, and young people have access to comprehensive sexual and reproductive health services.

SIPPA is a registered non-governmental organization (NGO) with operations across five provinces in Solomon Islands, supported by more than 100 community-based volunteers.

SIPPA recently partnered with Alinea International to enhance its work in sexual gender-based violence through the SAFENET network. The EmpowerHER Project aims to improve equality, enjoyment of human rights, and freedom from sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) in Solomon Islands.

We are seeking the services of a Project Manager to be based in our head office in Honiara to manage the delivery of EmpowerHER project activities. The role will involve working with Project officers based in Honiara, Gizo and Noro, National and Provincial government agencies, and civil society partners to ensure that all interventions are culturally appropriate, survivor-centered, and aligned with gender equality principles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate day-to-day program oversight for the EmpowerHER project implementation activities.
  • Development project workplan, budgets and identify project needs and risks together with project staff and program manager,
  • Report on progress and timely management of implementation issues,
  • Facilitate awareness sessions, training workshops, and dialogues on SGBV and gender equality supporting project team.
  • Support referral pathways for survivors to access health, psychosocial, legal, and protection services and keeping informed of any changes,
  • Support team in the provinces to provide secretariate support for SAFENET partners.
  • Collect project data, contribute to donor reports, and document success stories.
  • Engage with community leaders, women’s and youth groups, and government stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with SIPPA, IPPF and Alinea International’s safeguarding, gender equality, and donor standards.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualification in Social Work, Gender Studies, Development, Public Health, or related field. A degree will be an added bonus.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in coordination or management of SGBV, gender, protection, or community development programs.
  • Strong knowledge of survivor-centered approaches and gender equality principles.
  • Experience engaging with communities, CSOs, and government agencies in Solomon Islands.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills in English and Solomon Islands Pidgin.
  • Ability to travel to to rural locations and work with diverse groups.
