About the Solomon Islands Australia Education Partnership

The Solomon Islands-Australia Education Partnership (Edukeson fo iumi) program to support basic education - Stronger Education Together (SET) - aims to improve equitable school access and enhance the quality of education.

The program is managed under the Australia-Solomon Islands Program Support (ASIPS) Facility by DT Global and commenced 1 April 2025.

The Role

The Program Manager (Operations) is a member of the Program Management Team (PMT) which is responsible for the day-to-day management, implementation, coordination, administration, and monitoring of the program.

The Program Manager will support the implementation of day to-day activities, provide stakeholder partnership liaison and support, contribute to the monitoring and reporting on the overall performance of the program and performance of program team members, and manage NGO grant arrangements, ensuring the grants deliver agreed results.

The Manager will support the Deputy Team Leader to administer operations and support the functions of the PMT and the program generally.

This position will be remunerated based on the candidate’s skills and experience.

About You
Selection criteria

Qualifications

  1. Tertiary qualification in education, project management, business, international development or another relevant field.

Essential Experience and Knowledge

  1. Demonstrated experience in a role with responsibility for working with multiple partners and stakeholders to coordinate and plan functions and work activities and manage and mitigate risks.
  2. Demonstrated skill in activity coordination, financial monitoring, project management and program reporting to meet program requirements.
  3. Demonstrated ability to manage staff performance and to provide constructive feedback to ensure work outcomes are achieved.
  4. High level interpersonal, communication (verbal and written) and cross-cultural skills including the ability to contribute to program reporting and policy dialogue.
  5. Ability to work effectively as part of a cross-cultural and multi-location team with a range of stakeholders.
  6. Excellent time management, problem solving and organisation skills.

Desired Personal Attributes, Skills, and Knowledge
7. Experience working on international development programs in Solomon Islands or in the Melanesian/Pacific Islands context, demonstrating cross cultural skills and working with donors, governments and the NGO sector.
8. Ability to converse in Solomon Islands Pidgin would be an advantage
