Senior Asset Manager
This role is to manage the Asset Management Team with the management of high risk accounts with the aim of maximising the recovery/income of the Bank. Provide necessary support to ensure Manager Asset Management properly coordinate the team of collections & loan officers to manage bank's impaired assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure effective management of high risk accounts with the aim of maximising the recovery/incomecto the bank
- Manage a set of account and provide an early recommendation & implementation plan for corrective action, assess and undertake proceedings for recovery or improvement in asset quality
- Minimize adverse publicity by ensuring that rehabilitation and recoveries are performed in a professional manner against approved action plan
- Consult and liaise with approved panel of solicitors and other external parties on litigation and insolvency matters
- Deal with internal and external solicitors in relation to various legal matters related to loan recovery and counter actions by debtors
- Deal with receivers, liquidators and trustees in bankruptcy to maximize returns to the bank from insolvent estates.
- Negotiate with debtors to ensure that the bank maximizes its return from delinquent accounts through either restructuring their loans or dealing with assets not specifically charged to the bank
- Ensure effective management of debt collection
Experience, Skills & Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications attained from University in Accountancy, Banking or Finance/Commerce
- Minimum 8-12 years of professional experience in Banking/Accounting
- Experience and knowledge in Risk Management, Banking & Finance and Finance Analytical Skills.
- Proficient knowledge of the market and business line
- Proficient legal knowledge in loan recovery, receiver, liquidators and Trustees in Bankruptcy
- Knowledge of lending policies and procedures, security documentation, recovery process, legal, insolvency systems and an understanding of the Country Legal System in respect to debt recovery
- Technical analytical skills in analyzing financial documents including balance sheets, profit & loss statements and cash flow forecasts.
- Professional sound negotiation skills and ability to deal with uncooperative or hostile parties.
- Proficient Level of English
- Intermediate Skills in Credit, Lending and People Management Processes
- Intermediate Technical Skills in Statistical Analysis of various risks
- Detailed understanding of banking business and associated risks
