Call for Applications: ICT Next Gen Program

SIG ICT Services, in partnership with the Australia Solomon Islands Partnership for Justice (ASIPJ) and Pasifiki HR, is pleased to invite applications from interested individuals for the ICT Next Gen Program.

This program builds on the success of the 2024–2025 Junior Professional Program (JPP) and offers enhanced pathways for Solomon Islanders who have recently completed studies in Information and Communications Technology (ICT), or who have a strong interest in building a sustainable career in the ICT sector.

Program Background

The Solomon Islands Government (SIG) and private industries continue to experience a critical shortage of skilled ICT professionals. The Next Gen ICT has been developed to address this gap by creating a tiered, sustainable workforce development model aligned with the SIG Digital Strategy 2026–2030.

The ICT Next Gen program is designed to:

• Equip participants with practical ICT skills and industry-relevant knowledge

• Provide blended learning (online, classroom, training workshops)

• Offer professional mentorship from ICT experts in government and other key partners

Program Duration

The ICT Next Gen Program will commence with an initial six (6) month engagement. Subject to satisfactory performance and program requirements, participants may be offered:

• a second six (6) month extension, and

• a final six (6) month extension, for a possible total program duration of up to eighteen (18) months. Continuation beyond each phase is performance-based and not guaranteed.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Applicants are encouraged to have the following qualifications

• Hold a Certificate, Diploma, or Bachelor’s degree in ICT or a related field from a recognized university or training institution, OR

• Have 1–2 years of work experience in any ICT-related field

However, the minimum qualifications are Form 6 certification with relevant ICT experience and a strong interest in pursuing a career in ICT.
