Description:

I apply knowledge of engineering, biology, and bio mechanical principles to the design, development, and evaluation of biological and health systems and products, such as artificial organs, prostheses, instrumentation, medical information systems, and health management and care delivery systems.

Key tasks:

• Design systems and products, such as artificial internal organs, artificial devices that replace body parts, and machines for diagnosing medical problems.
• Install, adjust, maintain, repair, or provide technical support for biomedical equipment.
• Evaluate the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of biomedical equipment.
